A little window into the beautifully messy business of being human.
Inside our heads.
A little of what’s going on in mine.
A little of what’s going on in yours.
Things I’ve learned. Things I’ve unlearned. Things I still find absolutely infuriating, even when I understand them.
Notes from a real human
Take a peek inside my head.
A therapist with opinions. A human with questions.

A little space for your brain
What’s been on your mind lately?
A question. A small realisation. Something wonderfully ridiculous.
Who knows? What’s been on your mind might be exactly what another human needed to hear.
The Thought Cloud
A shared collection of anonymous thoughts. Tap one to take a closer look. Sometimes you’ll find a thought back from Devan, too.
Yours goes to Devan privately first. If approved, it joins the cloud. A reply is a possibility, not a promise.
These labelled examples show how the cloud could feel. Their replies are illustrative drafts for Devan’s review, not responses to real visitors. They disappear once four approved community thoughts arrive, or you can hide them above.
Another way to get it out
Words aren’t your thing today?
Don’t want to type? Or write? I get it.
Maybe what you’re sitting with would be easier to draw, doodle, scribble, or paint. Go for it. Express yourself here.
A moment of raw creation, just for you. Have fun! Or don’t. It’s up to you.
Where do I even start? ↝
Pick a question. Ignore a question. The page won’t be offended.

Paper nearby? Even better.
Draw on scrap paper. Photograph it. Bring it here if you want.

There is an actual person in here
Who the heck am I?
Hi, I’m Devan. I grew up in North Carolina, spent years living and working in the US, and eventually made my way to Sydney.
Before counselling and psychotherapy, much of my work was in higher education, student success and campus life. Different rooms, still lots of humans trying to find their way.
I’m interested in people, relationships, music, learning, creativity and all the contradictions that come with being a person. I’m a queer human, a singer and a proud Italian greyhound dad. A person with opinions, and occasionally a reason to reconsider them.
Still figuring things out. Professionally curious about it.

Ground rules & what sharing means
Share your own thoughts and creations. Avoid names, contact information, identifying details and other people’s private stories.
No harassment, hate speech, threats or sexually exploitative material. Only share art you own or have permission to share.
Nothing appears publicly until Devan approves it. Submissions may be declined, hidden or removed. Your words will only be edited if you give separate permission. Publication and a reply are not guaranteed.
Devan’s public replies are personal reflections, not individual therapy, clinical advice or crisis support. This space is not monitored for urgent help.
Privacy, storage & removal
Typing, drawing, preparing a photo and previewing stay on the open page until you explicitly submit. We do not send them to AI or use them to train AI.
Submitted words are encrypted in the private database. Prepared artwork is stored privately; image metadata is stripped. Approved words and art become public and other people may save copies.
Pending submissions and reports expire after 30 days, declined submissions after 7 days, hidden submissions after 90 days. Published items remain until removed. Expired records are removed on the next collection or moderation request. A temporary salted rate counter helps limit spam; we do not store your raw IP with a submission. Hosting services may retain ordinary technical logs.
Save your private removal receipt after submitting. We cannot recover an anonymous submission for you without its ID and removal code. Removal from this Hub cannot recall copies saved elsewhere.
